The EPFO already offers complaint resolution through a WhatsApp helpline. This service is available at regional offices across the country. Under EPFO 3.0, the organization is continuously digitizing its services.
In the future, facilities like PF withdrawals through UPI and ATMs may also be introduced. Furthermore, work is underway on auto-claim settlement and faster processing.
The EPFO has millions of members in the country, and the launch of the WhatsApp-based service will reduce the need for people to visit offices. This could be a significant relief, especially for employees living in small towns and remote areas.
Pension is also expected to increase
The EPFO could provide significant relief to millions of employed people in the country. According to media reports, the EPFO is considering increasing the minimum pension.
It is believed that the minimum pension limit could be raised from ₹1,000 to ₹3,000. In fact, given rising inflation and changing living standards, there has been a long-standing demand to increase the minimum pension limit.
